END OF OUR PYO SEASON CLOSED SATURDAY 15TH AUGUST.

Customers who have kindly visited the farm will be aware that we operate grass field car parking.

The recent exceptional rain levels has made it impossible to safely allow cars onto the car parks and we have had to take the decision to cancel the planned opening for Saturday 15th August.

This day had been scheduled to be our final opening day for this season.

We would like to thank all our customers who have visited the farm, accepted with good grace the social distancing rules and at times peak visitor numbers and we look forward to welcoming you back in June 2021.

OPEN SATURDAY 15TH AUGUST

We are now coming to the end of our pick your own season.

We shall be open once more , next Saturday 15th August, from 9.00 a.m. until 12.00 p.m.

We shall have a good crop of blackberries, and a small crop of strawberries available.

Thank you.

OPENING SUNDAY 9TH AUGUST, NOT SATURDAY 8TH

We are now coming to the end of our pick your own season and have a limited amount of fruit available.

To let the fruit ripen as much as possible we shall open again on Sunday 9th August, NOT Saturday 8th August at 9.00 a.m. We shall be closing at 1 p.m.

There should be a reasonable crop of strawberries and blackberries and a small amount of raspberries.

OPEN WEDNESDAY 5TH AUGUST

We shall be open Wednesday 5th August from 10.00a.m. and have available for picking strawberries, blackberries and a limited amount of raspberries. There are still some red and blackcurrants as well.

We are now coming to the end of our pick your own season and shall next be open on Saturday 8th August from 9.00 a.m. until 4.00p.m.

We look forward to welcoming you at our farm. Thank you.

CLOSED UNTIL WEDNESDAY 29TH JULY

We experienced another busy fruit picking day on Sunday and will remain closed until Wednesday 29th July.

We hope to have good crops of strawberries, red and black currants and blackberries and a limited amount of raspberries. available for picking.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Thank you for all your custom so far.

SORRY CLOSED UNTIL SUNDAY 26TH JULY

Our farm has had a quite extraordinary season so far. Visitor numbers have been so large that for a period on Wednesday morning we had to close our gates to customers.

There have also been extended times when the delays to customers at the check out tills have been too long and we are sorry to all who have experienced this problem .

We considered adopting a pre booking ticketing arrival system as operated elsewhere, but our problem is that given the small farm scale selling a ticket when we might not have sufficient ripe berries felt the wrong choice.

To try and remedy matters we will have introduced an extra cash only till payments from Sunday.

Please could we suggest that you consider arriving when it is a little quieter at around 11.30 a.m rather than promptly at 9.00 a.m.

Please be aware that picnicking is NOT ALLOWED on our farm this season, We must ensure we stick to the correct social distancing.

We are not able to offer toilet facilities this year.

Thank you for your continued interest and we look forward to your visit on Sunday 26th July.

SORRY ALL PICKED OUT WED 22ND JULY

SORRY WE ARE CLOSING EARLY AS WE HAVE HAD ALL OUR RIPE FRUIT PICKED.

WE SHALL BE OPENING AGAIN EITHER SATURDAY OR SUNDAY DEPENDING ON FRUIT AVAILABILITY AND THE WEATHER.

PLEASE CHECK THE WEBSITE OR ANSWER PHONE BEFORE COMING

THANK YOU

OPEN WEDNESDAY 22ND JULY

We are open today Wednesday 22nd July from 10.00 a.m. until 6.00 p.m. with last admission at 5.30 p.m.

We have available for picking plenty of strawberries, red and black currants and blackberries and a limited amount of raspberries.

There will be a 20% pensioners discount this afternoon because we were closed yesterday.

CLOSED SUNDAY 19TH JULY

The fruit farm experienced another record number of visitors today, we would like to thank you all for your support and in maintaining social distancing which enables us to remain open.

The quantity of fruit picked has meant that there is insufficient ripe berries to enable us to open tomorrow, Sunday 19th July.

We will next be open on Wednesday, 22nd July from 10.00a.m. and we would expect to have ripe sweet strawberries, blackberries, red and black currants. There may also be a limited supply of raspberries.

Thank you for your continued interest and support.

CLOSED UNTIL SATURDAY 18TH JULY

We would like to thank all our customers who visited the farm today we had a record number of mid week visitors.

We will next be open again on Saturday, 18th July at 9.00 a.m. when we hope to have available for picking ripe strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and red and black currants.

This years growing season has been a little unusual with the mega hot late spring being followed by many dull and disappointingly grey and cool days. This has tended to delay ripening and has meant we have not been able to open as often as we would normally expect. We thank everyone for their patience and hopefully we will all enjoy some warmer and sunnier days over the next week or two. The strawberries will certainly benefit from a little more sunshine.

As always please check our website or answer phone (01727 31224) on the day you are planning to come to ensure correct daily information.

Thank you.

Closed Sunday 12th July until Wednesday 15th July

Once again we would like to thank all our customers who came and picked fruit today on our farm.

We had another exceptionally busy day and so now do not have any ripe fruit available for picking tomorrow, but hopefully with the warm weather forecast for the coming week we hope to have another good crop of all our fruits except gooseberries, by Wednesday.

Thank you for your interest and attendance.

OPEN SATURDAY 11TH JULY

We shall be open from 9.00 a.m. on Saturday, 11th July.

This weeks poor weather has delayed fruit ripening and we would expect that our ripe strawberries and raspberries will be picked by lunchtime. We expect that with the better weather forecast for this coming week there will be plenty more ripe fruit available by mid week. We do have good crops of red and black currants and blackberries available. The gooseberries have now nearly come to the end of their season.

Cash and card payments will now be accepted.

We look forward to seeing you soon. Thank you.

CLOSED FRIDAY 10TH JULY

We are sorry that we shall be closed today 10th July, but will open again tomorrow 11th July at 9.00 a.m.

We shall have available for picking strawberries, raspberries, red and black currants and blackberries. The gooseberries are now coming to the end of their season.

OPEN THURSDAY 9TH JULY

We shall be open today Thursday 9th July from 10.00 a m until 6.00 p m with last admission at 5.30 p m. We have available for picking all our fruits, strawberries, raspberries, red and black currants, blackberries and the last few gooseberries.

Although the forecast for today isn’t particularly good the coming week is looking far more promising and we hope to be able to open on more days.

We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Thank you.

FARM CLOSED WEDNESDAY 8TH JULY

In the light of the very heavy overnight rain and the forecast for continual wet weather today Wednesday 8th July we have decided that the farm will NOT open.

We hope to open tomorrow Thursday 9th July but this again will be subject to the weather conditions. Please check our website /answer phone.

The forecast for later this week is more favourable and we will definitely be open on Saturday, 11th July. Thank you.

record levels of visitors

We would like to thank all our customers who visited the farm today. Sorry if you had to wait a little longer both to be admitted to the farm and at the check out.. The numbers attending were at record levels and as a result all our ripe fruit has been picked.

We will therefore now be closed on Sunday, 5th July. Subject to the weather this coming week ripening the fruit we would hope to be open again on Wednesday 8th July. Opening confirmation will be on the web and answer phone.

Thank you again for your interest in our PYO farm.

NEXT OPENING SATURDAY 4TH JULY

We have had another very busy day today, Wednesday 1st July. As a result with no ripe strawberries now ready we will be closed until Saturday 4th July.

On Saturday subject to some slightly warmer weather we hope to have a good supply of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and red and black currants.

It will probably be the last weekend when our gooseberries will be available.

Thank you for your custom and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Update on Saturday 27th June

We would like to thank the many hundreds of customers who visited our farm on Saturday during the heavy showers. The result is that all our ripe fruit has been picked and we therefore will be closed on Sunday 28th June . Dependant on the weather over the next few days we would hope to open on Wednesday 1st July when we expect that all our soft fruits will be available.

Please check our website or answer phone where up to date details will be confirmed.

Thank you for your interest.

Closed until Saturday 27th June

It was wonderful to be able to open our gates and welcome so many people onto the farm on Saturday. We hope you enjoyed it and look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

All the ripe strawberries were picked on Saturday. To allow for the fruits to ripen further we will now remain closed until next Saturday, 27th June, opening at 9.00 a.m when we hope that for the rest of the season we should be able to offer more regular opening times.

Thank you.

Start of the new PYO season 2020

We shall be opening this Saturday 20th June for the start of the fruit picking season. We only have a limited amount of ripe strawberries available for picking this weekend, and will probably close early on the Saturday. we shall NOT be open this Sunday. Also if we feel the farm is too busy we will ask you to wait for the numbers to decrease. We ask all our customers to respect the government rules on social distancing at both the entrance and exit.

Protective screens have been installed to protect both the staff and you the customer. This year we shall only be accepting card payments for the fruit picked.

In the fields there is plenty of space but we still ask customers to be considerate at all times to other pickers. Our toilets will be closed for the season due to the virus. Only two adults per car please plus children. Please note that under current regulations we are only open for essential food retail, NOT as a leisure activity. Please do not engage in any picnics or outdoor leisure activities as groups of friends as this is not meeting government guidelines.

Whilst at our farm your safety is paramount and we hope you will respect our safety as well. Thank you and we hope you enjoy your visit.

PYO SEASON 2020

We plan to be open for this season from around the 20th June for fruit picking, hopefully starting with strawberries and possible gooseberries and blackberries. But with COVID 19 social distancing restrictions this season will be a little different

To meet with government guidelines we have the following changes in place. We request that all our customers follow the new rules to help keep our staff and you the customers safe:-

  1. We have introduced a new entrance and exit only one way system into and out of the fruit fields.
  2. Please keep a minimum of 2 metres away from other people whilst picking, there is plenty of space for this so should not be a problem, ideally pick in a different row.
  3. We will only accept card payments. Contactless payments up to £45. No cash payments will be accepted.
  4. Only 2 adults per car please. This is very important and children living in the same house are welcome.
  5. We have introduced a queuing system with markings, we ask our customers to keep to this distancing.
  6. Due to health and safety reasons our toilet facilities will be closed.

We look forward to welcoming you back to our pick your own farm this June.

Once the farm is open we will have daily news on the availability of the fruits both on the website and also on our answer phone Tel No. 01727831224

Thank you.
